A Perseus-SDR receiver is now available to test at:

Radio can tune 10 kHz to 30 MHz all modes.

As is, the radio will have the following default bandwidths that for the time being we can't change with this version of current driver.

Default Filter Values now are as follows:

CW ---> 0.5 kHz

SSB---> 2.4 kHz

AM ---> 9.0 kHz

SAM --> 9.0 kHz (use WFM button!)

NFM --> 12.5 kHz


Attenuator button will give you minus 20 dB, please use it especially between 500 kHz and 8 MHz at nights!

Mode buttons correspond to normal modes, BUT EXCITINGLY, if you click WFM this will activate the Synchronous Detection for AM, which will help with fading signals (AM)!

The Perseus is connected to the same antenna as the Icom R-8500 of Dorset Radio, and thus if you wish you can perform basic comparisons.

The radio is only a couple of days old, so understandably during the day I may need to play with it a tad too.

By default, the radio is tuned to 198 kHz Long Waves, a reliable frequency for reception 24/7 in the UK (BBC, Radio 4). Ignore the initial VFO zero indication and proceed to tune as normal.

Audio could be a bit louder, but there you are..soundcard limitations.

Thanks to Olivier (F4CMB) I now have MW Activated on FMDX-Saint-jean. You can now try to DX MW IBOC Signal (Sound is comparable to DRM) Some Iboc station is on the bandguide. Iboc DX in MW is hard to receive.

London West has a much improved receiver A PCR1500 by Icom. This now provides the much wanted squelch control for aviation and better sound quality. Enjoy, and thanks to Dave for his efforts.
