GlobalTuners - How to use the radio ?
A graphical guide to use the radio

For some people, the GlobalTuners interface can be quite overwhelming, so many buttons to choose from, so many options...where do you start ? how do you control the radio ? and why is the audio not starting automatically like it once used to ??

With this pictorial guide, I have tried to answer those questons, please have a look at this and let us know if I've missed anything or if I could make it any easier to follow.

Item Description
A) click here for a drop down list of audio stream rates, select your stream rate and click the arrow next to "Start audio"
B) click one of these five settings for receiver bandwidth, usually 6k is used for LW, MW and SW; 230k is used for FM Broadcast and TV but this will vary depending what radio you are using.
D) the digital frequency display, shows current operating frequency, mode, receiver bandwidth and squlech level
E) click the link here to send us comments, abuse, suggestions or anything else
G) the banguide, click this for a drop-down list of services and their assocated frequencies, click one of the service to bring up the list of scrollable freuquencies in the box where the node administrators name is.
M) choose a mode, usually AM/LSB or USB on LW, MW and SW and WFM on FM Broadcast and TV. FM broadcast and TV modes may vary in different countries.
N) if you want to change nodes, click this drop-down box to select the node you want to move to, then click "Select receiver" to be moved to that node.
O) click here if you want to logout of the radio and the portal and be taken back to www.dxtuners.com
S) if you're using your mouse to tune with the VFO knob, this will set the tuning increments
S1) the signal meter.
Allowing for delay between when the signal is heard at the radio and when the meter moves in your browser, this meter is a fairly accurate indication of signal strength
S2) sets the squelch
V) the VFO knob, you can use your mouse to change frequency like you would use your finger to rotate the VFO knob on any other receiver
V1) the volume control
U) this box displays the users who're currently logged in
C) chat box - if you want to say something, type in here, hint enter and wait a few seconds for it to be displayed in N1
H) in the case of DX-Tuner Broome, this is the link which takes you to the radio nodes website which has information about known problems, any updates and general information about the site.
U) want to upgrade your account - more radio's, some specialist set-ups; click this link
E1) click this link to send email to us here at the support team with any information, news, abuse or if you want to report a problem

Letters which have been bolded are a hint to help you remember the item key easier.
eg) for item V, the letter V in the word VFO has been bolded to help you remember that item V is the VFO knob (I hope that explanatin makes sense ?)

If you want to have your own DXTuner and become a node on our worldwide network, click 'Setting up a DXTuner' in the Information menu.
