Enjoy listening to this receiver, but please bare in mind the following points.

• This one computer has to fulfill my personal needs aswell as stream this node.

• This computer is getting old, it's the only one I have, it's the best I can currently offer.

• Because of the above points, there may be times when the node may not run smoothly, or the "High Quality" listener feature may be temporally disabled.

Cheers.

This receiver is located in Wakefield, West Yorkshire. The antenna is a Triax 5 element yagi horizontally polarized. The direction does vary, also if you want a particular direction, message me and that can be arranged. Please note: I have named most of the frequencies, certain frequenices may have have 2 or more station names, obviously the station that you'll hear will depend on which way the yagi is pointing and propagation. During tropospheric ducting or sporadic E propagation, it is possible to receive distant stations not necessarily listed...remember, the list is only a guide!

Please remember, this yagi is HORIZONTAL. Most powerful transmitters broadcast with MIXED POLARIZATION, (thats vertical AND horizontal). Some countries, e.g. Holland, Ireland, parts of Belgium tend to broadcast in VERTICAL POLARIZATION, so don't be disappointed if you don't hear these countries often. Low powered relay transmitters tend to be VERTICAL also! Other countries, e.g. Germany, France and Scandinavia should be favourable under tropo conditions. There will be no problems with Sporadic E hearing further countries.
Occasionally, I might errect a vertical dipole on a telescopic pole outside during favourable conditions to Holland etc.

^^^ Please note: I check the above link frequently and use it to determine which way to beam (if I'm in the shack of course).
