Tim, it's great to see more AM stations active or coming on air in Ireland, 1584 Zenith Classic Rock will be added to the database right away, has anyone else other than Tim yet received this station?

At around sunrise it could be received in parts of Europe when signals from stations on 1584 kHz from further east fade out and Ireland is not yet in full daylight.

AMLIST-MWLIST does not yet use a forum with PHP software, all users on Facebook can post any info or feedback into the MWLIST MWSCAN Facebook fan page: http://www.facebook.com/pages/AMList-MWList/103366923066246

A forum is featured on that page on the tab next to the infos and photos.

Don't know how easy it is to receive either Atlantic Radio or Zenith Classic Rock outside Ireland, I don't hear them all the time and even when I use directional antennas (pennants), they are still weak, e.g. Atlantic most of the time is 650 W. So, I fear they are not armchair copies.

Atlantic Radio's director, Stephen, wrote me he doesn't get reception reports from abroad:
"Thank you very much for your report! your my first report for 1251Khz outside of Ireland".

Here is my reception of Atlantic Radio

And Zenith Classic Rock is only on during weekends:

Bjorn,
One small touch on Zenith Classic Rock's entry when you read this message. Andy, Zenith Classic Rock's guy, contacted me re. the transmission and antenna location last week and it's Waterford. Not far from Ballygorey, but only so that no confusions arise with database users' searches.
Cheers,
Tim

Björn & Tim,

" Atlantic Radio's director, Stephen, wrote me he doesn't get reception reports from abroad:

I did't know that Atlantic Radio did't had any listen report from Mainland Europe if that is what I understand if I'm right ?

Well I had the plan to send them a listen report but I did't do it. And know I don't hear any signal any more on 6.960 khz for more than a week. I did only check some times to see if there are there or not. But the don't ?

I think be course the SW is not very good open the last week. Not like 14 days a go when Laser on 6.210 boom in and Atlantic was also a really good signal.
Now last week Laser 6.210 weak with fading.

Ps at 18:30 H UTC a German speaking religion come on air on 6.210 Khz and stays on and till 19:00 H UTC the blow Laser away signal is really hard and strong. I did mail Laser about this.

Is Atlantic still on 6.690 khe or did the mover be course the is some time heavy Utility (RTTY ?) QRM on top of them. Its seems that the do that to get them away there. So I think the QRM is not normal there ?

I also read on the web there use low TX power of just 0.0010 KW or 10 watts HF there ware weaker than Laser 2 week ago when the where both really hard and really stable signal

Bjorn,

Nor sure if you have this one on your list guys ?
"Radio Liberación" on 1470 kHz MW, hard to find any Googled reference.
Uploaded what I received last night on YouTube:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-vlYuZrjj70

The station's name (Liberación) could refer to Cuba or Venezuela.
Maybe we can check via Altos Mirandinos or Tampa, but I am off to work soon...

-Great opening to Central/South America last night, West Indies (Caribbean Becon on 1610) was nearly beating the Europeans on Medium Waves.

Hope opening continuous tonight!

Hi Tim, I'm checking this out, your recordings, thanks for posting.

Your first recording has a definite ID from 1470 YVSY Radio Vibración from Carúpano, Venezuela.

Their transmitter site would be here:
http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=10.662492,-63.295294&spn=0.03805,0.06727&t=k&hl=en

1470 YVSY Radio Vibración is received fairly often in parts of Western or Northern Europe, sometimes in the Rovigo, Italy RX or in Central Europe.

Yes, 1610 Caribbean Beacon is often received as well, even under not so good condx, usualy //6090 kHz.

Hi Bjorn,
Hope you got any good DX during the special propagation conditions these few nights ago?Cheers for help ID-ing Venezuela's Radio Vibracion,on 1470, acknowledged your contribution in the video description already.

7,090 km MW-Dx, for my small urban garden and an 8m long antenna, not bad. When propagation helps, all is possible.

Re. the clips themselves, that's the superiority of logging via YouTube clips:

The RX-ed signal can be verified by anyone, anytime, anywhere in the world, as opposed to plain Rx claims which aren't always 100% serious, genuine or provable, especially now in the era of web networked radios available to anyone. ;)

As for the Caribbean Beacon to receive it on 6090 kHz shortwave, not so far away in terms of this wavelength, so not enough of a challenge.

Did a search on YouTube for "Caribbean beacon 1610 kHz" and "Caribbean Beacon", only two videos for 1610 , one from Philadelphia and one from Brazil, none from Europe or outside the Americas.
That's why I posted the RX of Car. Beacon on MW 1610 from the UK the other night.

Despite the general gloom regarding the one MW station closing after the other, here's some hopeful news for your database, especially the 612 and 675 kHz ones:

"Spirit R. from Ireland ( spiritradio.ie ) plans to start also MW operation from three locations on 549, 612 and 675 kHz."
Of course, it would have to be yet one more Christian radio station.

Hi Tim, as you mention Spirit Radio in Ireland, this station has been listed in MWLIST as planned (p) for a longer period on all 3 frequencies, until now not much news or reports about a future on-air launch date have appeared, as soon as it does come on air, it will be visible in the quicklist (or shown in a different text font or colour until then, I was thinking about different colours in narrow fonts for closed, inactive, planned stations).

1395 Orbit Rock is now being reported on Radio en TV zenders in Nederland, which is a primary radio news site in the Netherlands (data in that site is partly connected to FMLIST via graphic links). A launch date on March 28 for Orbit Rock is mentioned, usualy reports on this site are reliable. Presumably they would use the Trintelhaven transmitter site or a low power site nearby, actually it would be even better for Orbit Rock to move to a UK or Ireland site.

Lately I haven't been that active on the AM or FM bands, only short condx checks were done showing rather weak signals in contrast to the good condx just a few months ago.
