Pascal Malin, ONL111168
As of 16 Oct 2009, Pascal has tragically left us. Pascal has died unexpectedly at around 14:45 GMT at the age of 43 from a heart attack. He was survived by his wife Sonja and daughter Femke. Pascal's funeral will take place on tuesday 27. Oct 2009, starting at 09:45 GMT. He will be cremated at Lochristi, Belgium.
Pascal was one of the people who made GlobalTuners possible. He was the second user to register for an account on our website and the site operator of the Ghent node; he wrote articles (Aero DX, Digital DX, Propagation info, Shortwave secrets, World amateur radio and a few detailed how-tos for site operators). Pascal was the first to install and test our new software and website. Many of the very first nodes were installed by him and he was always ready to help somebody out.
Not only did he do a great job for the website; he was a great person, friendly, responsible. A good friend.
Pascal, thank you for all the time you've spent with us. I've always enjoyed your company and am really going to miss you.
Sonja and Femke, thank you for all the time you let us borrow Pascal from you. Please accept my condolences to you and the rest of Pascal's family.
Rest in peace Pascal. You will live on in our memory.

Monday, 26-Oct-09 03:40:40 GMTI'm sorry but I have another sad news this week. Pascal Malin, nodes operator of Gent, Belgium on Dxtuners and recently on Globaltuners as died from an eart attack october 14 2009. I received this news from his wife. It's difficult to communicate as she seem to only speak Flemish, so the news come with the help of google translate.
I wish on behalf of GlobalTuners Community sincere condolences to his family and friends. I will send all your message to his wife.

here is the latest video he made for his globaltuners node return.

Monday, 26-Oct-09 12:12:33 GMTPascal was a pillar for the site, as so many people here (who have been here much longer than me) know. Dedicated & enthusiastic radio person, master in ICT, helpful towards so many of us...we lost a giant figure. Thanks Pascal for all you've done for the site, myself and many others, your legend will live for ever among your many friends, you will go down in history, and be bitterly-bitterly missed.
Farewell Pascal, farewell Ghent-DX !

I am deeply sorry for your loss. Please know you are in my thoughts at this sad time. We all enjoyed our many interactions with Pascal here on GlobalTuners and on DxTuners. He was very friendly and helpful and it was fun to chat with him while listening to the radio!. He was one of the people that made this site the wonderful place it is to come meet with others and listen to radio together.
Thank you Pascal for all you have done here,

Tuesday, 27-Oct-09 12:54:43 GMTI was devastated when I heard about Pascals death. He was a great fan of DxTuners and a given addition to the GlobalTuners network. I had the pleasure of meeting him on HamSphere in the beginning. He was always the curious technical guy and often sent me cheering words and questions via email from Belgium. I will miss him.
My deepest sympathy goes to his wife and child.
Rest in peace Pascal!

Friday, 30-Oct-09 01:40:00 GMTThis has taken me sometime to be able to write anything. As I considered Pascal as part of my family and we had gotten on so well, even when he decided to leave GT for some 12 months, I still kept in contact with him on other different networks. This is a sad lost to all of us, being that he was always joyfull and full of spirit and goodwill.
Rest in peace Pascal from all of us here down under (Phoebe-ann, Harry, little Stevie, Kathy and me.
This be the last time I will type this as it is the greeting and farewell msg when chatting.

Sunday, 08-Nov-09 20:37:48 GMTHello together,
even if I do not know Global Tuners yet long and im of use, I would also like to pronounce Pascals family my deepest sympathy.
Because I work with the Red Cross and exactly can understand like one relative loses a beloved person.
My grandma has passed away this year on 2.7 at the age of 103 years.
I wish from whole heart that the Familymembers overcome this hard time of the grief.
