The New York receiver seems to receive a lot of pirate stations. 92.1, 92.9, 94.5, 94.9, 95.1, 95.3, 95.9, 97.5, 99.9, 102.3, 102.5, 103.1, 103.9, 104.7, 106.3, 107.9

Anyone else receive pirate stations on a receiver here?

I see people listening to shortwave pirates on the Lexington KY receivers, around the 6925-6950 KHz. area.

Thanks for the tip. I'd love to hear some of the FM pirates, so will check the New York receiver sometime.

Here is proof that these are pirate stations : http://radio-locator.com/cgi-bin/locate? select=city&city=Brooklyn&state=NY&band=Both&is_lic=Y&is_cp=Y&is_fx=Y&is_fb=Y&format=&dx=3&radius=150&freq=&sort=freq&sid=

It sounds like the FCC needs to build a field office in Brooklyn, NY because they got alot of cleaning up to do!

92.9 FM - Pirate - Choice FM - Brooklyn, NY DJ Name : The Boogieman

It's a radio station that serves the Carr-bean and Jamaican community. It has news about the tropical islands such as Trinidad, Jamaica, Bahamas, and other tropical countries. Sometimes it plays during Sundays Gospel music, and during 11 PM it does the new and plays reggae music. The station does not have a license and callsign, but it would be encouraged to apply for a LPFM license.

What is HD Guard Channel? I assume it has something to do with HD Radio.
Also, do any radios here on GT have HD capability? Ans, a genereal question re HD: Why are there no commercials on HD (I don't mind not having the commercials, but I realize the radio stations need to make money to survive)?
